Powertrains & Performance
There are two available engines for the Outlander Sport, depending on the trim you choose. The standard powertrain that comes with the base trim is a 2.0-liter MIVEC DOHC 16-valve inline four-cylinder engine with 148 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque. The 2.0-liter engine gets 30 highway mpg with front-wheel drive, though you can also choose All-Wheel Control (AWC) for improved handling.* The other engine is a 2.4-liter MIVEC DOHC 16-valve inline four-cylinder that has 168 horsepower and 167 lb-ft of torque. This engine has 29 highway mpg when you choose the manual transmission, though you can opt for an automatic transmission with AWC.*
The interior of the Outlander Sport will seat up to five people comfortably. There's an available panoramic sunroof to give you incredible views as you drive, and up to 49.5 cu ft of maximum cargo capacity provides plenty of storage. You can also opt for roof racks to improve storage space. Heated front seats are available to warm you on cold mornings, and automatic climate control is great for keeping everyone comfortable on a long trip. Plus, with available leather trim, you'll feel more sophisticated in the new Outlander Sport.
The Outlander Sport earned a 4-star safety rating from the NHTSA, and it comes with a range of features to keep you better protected. There’s Active Stability Control to monitor wheel slippage, a rearview camera system to make it easier to back into tight spaces, and available Lane Departure Warning to monitor lane positions and alert you if you start drifting. Other cool available features are rain-sensing wipers and Forward Collision Mitigation. In short, you’ll feel truly safe when you get behind the wheel.
